NurseriesOur main coffee nursery is located in the mountainous region of the Hod district in Northern Thailand, 148 kilometers south west of Chiang Mai. The site is at an altitude of 1060 meters above sea level and covers an area of 1600 square meters. We are also in the process of building further nurseries in other regions of the Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Song provinces.
Our team of specialist and Karen workers carefully monitor germination and growth of the seedlings to ensure we provide the best possible plants to our farmers. Seed beds are regularly watered, weeded and sprayed with Neem, a locally produced organic pesticide. Our workers also collect data on rainfall, temperature and humidity levels allowing us to monitor conditions and make relevant improvements to our sites.
After a year in the nursery the coffee plants are ready for transplanting. The pants are distributed to the farmers who attend training sessions teaching them how to prepare the ground, plant and care for their new trees. This takes place in May and June during the rainy season.
